What Does Cal Poly Look For?

Admission to Cal Poly is competitive within all majors. Our selection process considers factors for admission in an objective format in which applicants compete against other applicants within the same major.

How Do I Apply?

The undergraduate application for Fall 2018 is open from October 1 – November 30 through Cal State Apply, the California State University common application that allows students to apply to multiple CSU campuses. When applying, we recommend you take the following steps:

  1. Explore our majors and choose a program of study.
  2. Review our selection criteria for Freshman or Transfer students.
  3. Submit your application online with your $55 application fee.
  4. Add ecoms@calpoly.edu to your contact list. Email is our primary form of communication and how we will keep in contact with you throughout the admissions process.
